Britain’s leading Black Gospel artist, Muyiwa and Riversongz, is celebrating the news that his newly released album, his fifth, ‘Declaring His Name Around The World’, has entered the Amazon Top 10 for world music during its first week of release.

The album, released on August 29, was produced by US gospel legend and Grammy Award winning producer Kevin Bond and features collaborations with Darwin Hobbs and Mary Alessi.  It also has an unique international music flavour due to the inclusion of praise and worship leaders from India and China.

Of his time working with Bond Muyiwa shared, “It was an exciting and enlightening experience.  Working with a music legend is always daunting, but Kevin put us all at ease and most importantly brought the best out of us, which I think is reflected in the vocals and musicality of ‘Declaring His Name All Around The World’.”

Muyiwa and Riversongz’s work has taken them across the globe, and countries they’ve visited include Canada, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, USA, Slovakia, Poland, Ireland, Ukraine and the Republic of Benin.  It was his extensive worldwide travelling that gave rise to the theme of international worship featured in ‘Declaring His Name All Around The World’.

The album has drawn on different cultures and sounds to bring together a joyful sensation of hands reaching out across the continents; whilst some songs have a very intimate feel such as “My Heritage (Apata)” a lullaby from Muyiwa’s childhood.

Speaking about the inspiration for the new album, Muyiwa replied:  “We travelled so much and experienced so many people, cultures and sounds, it made perfect sense to explore some of these.  This album is a journey of the World’s music as seen through our kaleidoscope.”

Muyiwa has been described as ‘The hottest worship leader to emerge from the UK’ by leading publication Cross Rhythms UK and is often dubbed the hardest working man in UK gospel.   ‘Declaring His Name All Around The World’, seems set to take his music ministry to a new, and higher level and get him working even higher.

He already has a rising profile around the world and his deep rich voice has reached millions in Europe, the US and Africa through his roles as worship artist, radio host and TV presenter.

In 2009 Muyiwa became the first international artist to perform on BET’s popular ‘Celebration of Gospel’ programme and earlier this year he was appointed presenter of  the ‘Turning Point’ magazine program, which reaches an estimated global audience of 70 million.  This is coupled with his role as radio host on Britain’s leading radio station Premier Radio.  He presents their flagship, award-winning shows ‘Gospel Tonight’ and ‘Worship Tonight’.  He is also Station Director of Premier Gospel radio, a UK station dedicated to playing gospel music and uniting black churches nationwide.

‘Declaring His Name All Around the World’ is set to surpass the success of his last album,  which reached Number One on the HMV Blues and Soul chart and stayed there for five months, and was the impetus for Muyiwa’s successful UK wide tour, and two sell out shows at the world famous Indigo2 at the O2 – a feat never achieved by a UK gospel artist.

Muyiwa & Riversongz will be headlining the Celebration of Life concert being held at one of London’s leading venues, the Royal Festival Hall on Friday October 14.  The concert will be a celebration of the album’s launch and also celebrate the artiste’s aim to declare God’s name throughout the world.
