The Horseshoe Casino Cleveland may not open until March 2012, but the process of filling nearly 1,600 positions is officially under way.

Beginning Wednesday, the casino is accepting online applications for several positions and, in some cases, no experience is needed.

The casino’s first goal will be to identify candidates who can begin training for about 500 dealer and supervisor positions. They are being recruited first because they require the most training.

“Casino experience is not necessary to be considered for a dealer position,” according to a Horseshoe Casino news release. “Horseshoe will train dealers and supervisors, as well as most other positions within the casino.”

“Individuals with great attitudes and a desire to provide great customer service are encouraged to apply. ”

They will also be looking for candidates who are over 21; hold a high school diploma or GED; are able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends; are willing to submit to a drug test and background check; and are willing to attend dealer training on their own time beginning later this year.

The casino expects thousands of applications and promise that the process to identify candidates will be thorough and competitive.

Those interested in applying for dealer/supervisor positions must submit their online application by Sept. 30 at 12 p.m.
