CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

Thursday, City of Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Cleveland Chief of Police Michael McGrath proudly announce that the City of Cleveland has join together with our Law Enforcement partners from the Cities of Euclid, Lakewood, Parma, and Shaker Heights for this year’s Greater Cleveland multi community Gun Buy-Back program 2011.

In exchange for operable handguns, citizens will be given a $100 gas, food, or Target gift card, Cavs and Monsters tickets, and will be entered into a raffle with a chance to win up to $1,000… incentives are available while supplies last.

Bring a working handgun to one of the five participating locations on Saturday, September 17, 2011, between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

The gun must be unloaded in a clear plastic bag inside a second container. Transport the container in the trunk of your vehicle and pack ammunition separately.

Incentives will be shared for handguns only however, you may turn in shotguns and rifles.

Help us along with our event sponsors the Cleveland Clinic, ArcelorMittal, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Burt Saltzman owner of Dave’s Supermarkets, Medical Mutual, and the Cleveland Police Foundation and 19 Action News, cleanup our communities by making this year’s Gun Buy-Back one of the largest buy-back events in state history.
