This just makes me miss Whitney even more! A sneak peek of Whitney Houston’s final movie Sparkle was released on the “Today” show on Monday morning.

The film, inspired by The Supremes, tells the story of an aspiring group of female singers in Harlem during the early 1960s. “American Idol” alum Jordin Sparks stars in the title role, while Houston plays her mother, whose dreams of stardom never came to fruition.

The film is a remake of the original 1976 version. Sparkle is slated to hit theaters in August.
