The Akron Zoo is opening its newest attraction Saturday.
The new exhibit, called “Journey to the Reef,” features 18 aquariums and more than 40 species of sea life. It includes a stingray touch pool, live coral and interactive areas where visitors can learn about ocean life and conservation.
Journey to the Reef will have several animals that are new to the Akron Zoo, such as eels, lionfish and clownfish.
Local artist, Amy Mothersbaugh-Roos, helped create the 10,000 square foot mural that decorates the exhibit.
