The gospel community is all abuzz about Live Nation’s “The King’s Men” fall tour featuring gospel music heavyweights Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, and Israel Houghton. Never one to shy away from poking fun at himself, Franklin shares a chuckle-inducing promotional picture via Twitter

Franklin, who is a gifted songwriter, musician, and producer said via Twitter, “My kids just asked me: so dad, Marvin, Donnie and Isreal are on the tour..They sing.. What are YOU going to do? #thingsthatkeepyouhumble

Funny.

“The genre of gospel music having this kind of massive marketing support is monumental, and the talent on this tour makes it a must-see event! I’m very proud of this relationship and I expect it to be a new groundbreaking platform for inspirational entertainment,” said Kirk Franklin in a statement sharing his sentiments about the partnership with Live Nation.

Gospel artists, unlike most successful mainstream acts, do not receive major tour support that allows them to take their music to huge arenas across the US. A big budget venture like this is excellent for the gospel music genre.
