Lately, there has been heavy talk among church folk about the premiere of a new TVland series, The Soul Man. In the preview, Neicy Dash’s character discusses with her preacher man husband (Cedric the Entertainer) how the ladies in the congregation do not receive her well. However, we found out this week on The View that her character truly imitates her former marriage. She opened up about her past life to a preacher and hesitantly alludes to the shade that was thrown in her direction because of her “image.”
However, Neicy is not the only one catching church flack over her “image”. Meagan Good, known for her risqué roles in films and scanty poses in men magazines shocked the world with her engagement & fast-track wedding with Devon Franklin, a Seventh Day Adventist preacher. However, when she decided upon a burlesque-themed bachelorette party, the mothers in the Zion reached for their lap handkerchiefs and baptismal robes.But Miss Good did not take the shadebeing thrown lying down and tweeted:
“Let’s get something straight … I wasn’t half naked last night … I was actually very covered up, not showing anymore than I show when I dress up to go to events …and let’s get something else straight .. I’m [an] actress …there will be many things narrow minded people deem unholy or not 1st lady like … But this is not so..it’s about your relationship with God and your personal convictions …if you see footage you will see I was covered up having fun dancing and enjoying myself with my friends and family and absolutely not doing a striptease …smh people are ridiculous .. Can’t a [girl] enjoy her bachelorette party in peace”
