JJ Hairston and Youthful Praise opened up the show with their hit single “After This”. lol.. His singers were on point! I love Bishop McDaniel’s ad libs.
The Top 10 performed tonight and here are the songs that they sang as well as the highlights from the judges comments. I think that the best performance for the evening was ASHFORD SANDERS with “Millions Didn’t Make It”. He is just quartet and straight up from Canton Mississippi! Watch the performance below:
Performances
Sarah Encamilla- “I Love the Lord”. She started off a little shaky but she got better as she continued.
Judges Comments
CeCe- “You have to start out where you ended”
Yolanda- “Start where your heart is”
Donnie – “Sing with the passion that comes in your walk with Christ”
Keith Ball- Moving Rendition of “He’s Able”
Judges Comments
CeCe- “I think his last performance was stronger”
Yolanda- “Show it the next time”
Donnie – “Be a thinker. You have a good gift”
Joshua Rogers “Young Buck”- “God Has Not Forgot”- He got a little wild during the adlib but it was good performance.
Judges Comments
CeCe- “If That’s getting lost, lose me. You are spectacular”
Yolanda- “You killed us at the end. I thank you for that. I’m glad God has resurrection power”.
Donnie – “You have the capacity to be Sunday Best. All you have to do is listen and follow instruction”.
Brian Luther “Walk With Me Lord” – Brian’s performance was a little jazzy but seemed to lack a little luster. I hate that they gave him that song.
Judges Comments
CeCe- “When you get something new, sometimes you have to try something new”
Yolanda- “You did have all your notes so that’s cool. Stretch”
Donnie – “I think you have more than you offered us. You played it too safe”
Danetra Moore “Safe In His Arms” – I loved the key changes in this song. She killed on the second change and I felt like she played it safe at first but she killed it with that last note.
Judges Comments
CeCe- “Very pitchy. I don’t know if you could hear. You ended up in the right place”.
Yolanda- “I love your voice. I love where you took us. I do want to see more from you”
Donnie – “Honestly you almost missed this song”
