Rev Craig Lamar Davis, faces two counts of ‘reckless conduct’ charges for allegedly intentionally spreading HIV. Davis was arrested on July 22, 2012 and released two days later on the 24th.
The Gospel veteran formerly known as the “Prince of Praise”, Byron Cage, is now the new Minister of Music for The Saint Paul’s Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia. Cage’s main duties as Minister of Music at the church are to oversee the worship ministry and provide leadership for all three campuses. He will still maintain his position as Senior Minister of Worship and Music at Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, Maryland.
In 2002, Gospel artist Lance Williams formed the True Worship Retreat to unite worshippers and to empower those called as worship leaders. Since its conception 10 years ago, the True Worship Retreat has been a perennial event for those serious about the ministry of gospel music. This year’s retreat goes down Thursday, September 6 thru Saturday, September 8, 2012. The True Worship Retreat 2012 theme is “Restoring the Divine Order of Worship,” and it will be held at Cathedral International, Perth Amboy, NJ. Special guests include Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Donald Lawrence, Rance Allen, Richard Smallwood, JJ Hairston, Twyse and Kierra Sheard.
Angel Taylor and Chanelle Haynes, collectively known as the award-winning Gospel duo Trin-i-tee 5:7, are no longer with Matthew Knowles’ Music World Gospel. Last week, Music World Gospel announced that the ladies were released from the label. Details of the split are still sketchy, if they requested to leave or if it was the label’s idea. However, Matthew Knowles has released a statement. He says, “Angel and Chanelle scored their first Grammy nomination as well as Grammy night worldwide TV performance with Music World. Their careers will always be linked to Music World. We will miss them and wish them the best of luck.” As for the ladies, they say, “We thank Music World and Mathew Knowles for everything they have done for us.” The split can be looked at as an end of a chapter or as a new beginning.
Grammy nominated and Reach Records artist Lecrae will perform live in the UK at the ‘Gravity’ album launch concert. The event takes place at the HMV Ritz in Manchester.
What many have speculated for quite some time now has finally been confirmed. Deitrick Haddon, has confirmed that he is no longer married to his wife of 15 years, Damita. Although Damita remained tight-lipped about the split, besides dropping “Haddon” from her current media promotions, Deitrick used Facebook to make the public announcement. “Many call me a man of God. I say I’m a good man trying to serve a great God the best i can..If I was that powerful of a Man Of God I would still be married 2 Damita.
Tina and Teddy Campbell welcome another baby boy into the family! Santana Campbell is the 5th child to join the Campbell clan. Tina told Essence.com, “”With the biggest grin plastered across his face, my husband and proud dad, Teddy, held my hand, as I cried tears of joy when my doctor handed me our new son.
It looks like the Gospel industry has caught the Reality TV bug. First Mary Mary found success with their show, then Marvin Sapp released a trailer for his upcoming show, Marvin Sapp: Single Dad and now Kim Burrell has released a sneak peek of her upcoming project “Whatever It Takes.” The new reality show stars Kim Burrell, Krishnar Lewis, Karen Smith and Kenneth Jackson. They are team members of the Manhattan-based PR Management firm: Lewis Agency.

Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp and Israel Houghton, known collectively as the “King’s Men”, gave a preview of their upcoming tour by performing a medley on The View.
