Check out  Gospel Play “To Love and To Cherish”. This second-time-around love story is about communication and respect. Jay and Aliyah have been married for five years and each has a child from a previous marriage. With constant misunderstandings and both disregarding the others feelings, these two are going to need to learn the laws of communication and respect if they want to make their marriage work. This is the fourth stage play in the Wedding Vow Series and stars Mel Jackson, Denise Boutte, Tommy Ford, Tammy Townsend, Mishon Ratliff, Constance Swain and Shirley Murdock.

A surprise for some African-Americans who tuned in to the Republican National Convention on was gospel singer Bebe Winans. He performed two numbers on the convention’s closing night “America, America” and “America the Beautiful.” Winans said after his performance, that he hopes to perform at the Democratic convention next week also. A spokesman for Winans said he was approached by both parties to perform at their presidential nominating conventions, but that the Democratic National Committee balked at his performing at the RNC, while the RNC didn’t mind him doing both. Winans was not paid for his performance.

Craig Lamar Davis, ordained minister and husband of Bishop Paul Morton’s executive secretary at Full Gospel Baptist Church, Jannalyn Davis, faces two counts of ‘reckless conduct’ charges for allegedly intentionally spreading HIV.
