Check out  Gospel Play “To Love and To Cherish”. This second-time-around love story is about communication and respect. Jay and Aliyah have been married for five years and each has a child from a previous marriage. With constant misunderstandings and both disregarding the others feelings, these two are going to need to learn the laws of communication and respect if they want to make their marriage work. This is the fourth stage play in the Wedding Vow Series and stars Mel Jackson, Denise Boutte, Tommy Ford, Tammy Townsend, Mishon Ratliff, Constance Swain and Shirley Murdock.

 

A surprise for some African-Americans who tuned in to the Republican National Convention on was gospel singer Bebe Winans. He performed two numbers on the convention’s closing night “America, America” and “America the Beautiful.” Winans said after his performance, that he hopes to perform at the Democratic convention next week also. A spokesman for Winans said he was approached by both parties to perform at their presidential nominating conventions, but that the Democratic National Committee balked at his performing at the RNC, while the RNC didn’t mind him doing both. Winans was not paid for his performance.

 

Craig Lamar Davis, ordained minister and husband of Bishop Paul Morton’s executive secretary at Full Gospel Baptist Church, Jannalyn Davis, faces two counts of ‘reckless conduct’ charges for allegedly intentionally spreading HIV. Davis was arrested on July 22, 2012 and released two days later on the 24th.

 

The Gospel veteran formerly known as the “Prince of Praise”, Byron Cage, is now the new Minister of Music for The Saint Paul’s Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia. Cage’s main duties as Minister of Music at the church are to oversee the worship ministry and provide leadership for all three campuses. He will still maintain his position as Senior Minister of Worship and Music at Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, Maryland.

It looks like the Gospel industry has caught the Reality TV bug. First Mary Mary found success with their show, then Marvin Sapp released a trailer for his upcoming show, Marvin Sapp: Single Dad and now Kim Burrell has released a sneak peek of her upcoming project “Whatever It Takes.” The new reality show stars Kim Burrell, Krishnar Lewis, Karen Smith and Kenneth Jackson. They are team members of the Manhattan-based PR Management firm: Lewis Agency.

 

Look for Shekinah Glory to drop their fourth CD, entitled “Surrender” September 25, 2012.  

 

Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp and Israel Houghton, known collectively as the “King’s Men”, gave a preview of their upcoming tour by performing a medley on The View. All four men performed one of their chart-topping hits! The King’s Men Tour will hit major venues in 15 U.S. cities beginning on Sunday, September 16th throughout Sunday, October 14th.

 

 

Marvin Sapp has just filmed a pilot for an upcoming reality show, “Marvin Sapp” Single Dad.” It has not been picked up by a network yet, we will keep you posted.
