Tyler Perry has cancelled all of the “Madea Gets a Job” Fall tour dates because he is simply fed up with evil people. In a letter written and released by Perry, he claims to be tired of bootleggers and scalpers taking advantage of people buying tickets for his shows. There are even people impersonating or falsely representing him on fake FaceBook pages and charging the public for meet and greets after the show. None of which is approved by Perry.

The nominations for the 2012 Soul Train awards have been announced.  Hosting the show this year is Cedric The Entertainer. The 2012 Soul Train awards is scheduled for November 8, 2012 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, however, it will be broadcast on Sunday, November 25, 2012 on Centric and BET. The list of nominees for Best Gospel/Inspirational Performance are. BeBe Winans</strong> “America, America,” “Fred  Hammond I Feel Good, “Marvin Sapp “My Testimony,”Mary Mary “Go Get It,”and Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks “Celebrate.”

In the midst of the Chicago Public School Teachers Strike, Bishop Larry Trotter along with other pastors, took a stand and declared his church one of many “Safe Havens” for countless school children. Trotter’s church and over 100 other churches were open as safe havens for six days due to the strike.

Minister and Gospel Artist Rev. Benjamin Cones Jr. passed at his home in Jackson, Mississippi on Sunday September 16, 2012 after an extended illness.

First Lady Vanessa Long gave an inspirational speech to the Heart to Heat women’s ministry of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. She spoke about standing by her husband, Bishop Eddie Long, during all his sexual misconduct allegations, among other accusations, back in 2010. Earlier this year she decided to divorce the bishop, however, she changed her mind and decided to stay in the marriage. Elder Vanessa compares her experience during that time with standing through a storm.

Multiple Grammy award-winning R&B legend, Chaka Khan, currently has a Gospel project in the works, set to be released in 2013. Chaka was featured on Richard Smallwood’s “Precious Is Your Name” and Andrae Crouch’s “All Around The World”.

Michael Winans, Jr., a member of the famous Winans family, has officially been charged by the United States government with wire fraud. According to reports, Winans cheated people out of more than $8 million dollars by using a ponzi scheme. He allegedly got the victims, which is said to be over 1,000 people, to invest in Saudi Arabian oil bonds. However, feds say that his oil bonds and investments were all fake, therefore allowing Winans’ to pocket the money. Winans’ attorney claims that his client intends to pay the victims back all of their money.

Music World Gospel recording artist, Le’Andria Johnson gave birth to her fourth child. Johnson’s exuberant message to her fans is, “it’s a healthy baby boy! Thanks for your prayers and support!” Little Caelington Forrest Walker was 6lbs, 14 ozs. Johnson and longtime mate, Forrest Walker are elated at the arrival of their new son. Her debut album sold over 200,000 copies and she took home both the GRAMMY® for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Performance of her hit song “Jesus” and the Best Female Gospel Artist Award for the Digital Gospel Music Awards. Johnson worked throughout her pregnancy recording her live DVD and music video along with several concert performances. She plans to spend a few weeks with her newborn and will then gear up for active promotion and touring for her album due in stores September 18th – Le’Andria Johnson: The Experience.
