The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is sending a message to voters: avoid possible lines on Election Day and Vote by Mail.

To help get this message out the Board of Elections and its 400 Community Partners are blanketing the county with voter education information that includes instructions on how to Vote by Mail.

Vote By Mail and early voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Vote by Mail and additional election information is also being distributed in libraries, offices, municipal buildings, and through social media.

“Up to 600,000 Cuyahoga County voters are expected to cast ballots in the November 6th Presidential Election,” said Jane Platten, Director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

“There are 422 polling locations in the County for an average of 1,400 voters per location. We want to minimize lines by increasing the number of people who take advantage of voting by mail,” said Platten.

Another good reason to Vote by Mail is the length of the ballot.  The ballot is packed with 3 pages of issues and candidates.  Voters who cast ballots by mail have extra time to study the candidates and issues.

The opening of Vote by Mail is the date when the Board of Elections will begin mailing ballots to voters who have submitted Vote by Mail ballot applications.

This is also the date when voters may begin voting early at the Board of Elections.

Here are the hours and days for Early Voting in person at the BOE:
