The Cavs have a brand new basketball court that will be ready for action when the team hits the floor for the 2012-13 home opener against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m. The new home court sports a fresh, updated look and an overall aesthetic of clean simplicity to showcase the action for Cavs fans watching the game live at The Q, at home or from their favorite gathering place.

The traditional style of the new playing surface features a simplified design. The paint is solid wine with gold accents, and the maple hardwood surface features a light stain on the court and darker tint along the sidelines and baselines. The team’s signature partial “C” logo adorns center court and the baselines display “Cleveland Cavaliers.”

The east sideline features “CAVS.COM” by the home bench with the team’s Twitter handle “@Cavs” positioned at the visitors bench. The Cavs DNA statement “ALL FOR ONE. ONE FOR ALL.” is centered on the west sideline. “Quicken Loans Arena” is displayed on each half court, and the Cavs secondary C-sword logo sits inside the three-point lines.

Designed by the Cavaliers graphics team, the regulation NBA court was constructed by Robbins Portable Floors in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is composed of 125, 4’x 8’ pieces and takes 75 minutes to assemble.
