34-year-old DeVon Franklin, who has just been promoted to Senior Vice President at Columbia Pictures, recently opened up to Better TV about the death of his father and how, through that pain, he discovered his purpose to “inspire and help people to live their best life.”
Though many have been buzzing about the young executive and preacher’s marriage to Hollywood star Meagan Good, few know that his father died when he was only 9 years old—a devastating loss.
“He died of a heart attack at the age of 36,” the Produced by Faith author shared with “Better” co-hosts Audra Lowe and JD Roberto.
“It was a painful experience,” he says and explains that when we face painful situations, “sometimes, we don’t want to go back, but when I started allowing myself to go back through that moment, I began to realize this is why I’m created, because I want to help inspire people and help people live their best life. “
