The Bible’s greatest command is that we love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:31). Had you and I been victimized by Hurricane Sandy, we would want someone to give to help us in our time of need. Today, there is something you can do to help with disaster relief.

If you, like billions of Americans, are watching in horror at the atrocities caused along the East Coast by Hurricane Sandy, there are ways to get involved.

Although you may not be able to personally provide the housing or supplies that are so desperately needed by victims, you can donate to organizations that are getting the job done.

Below, EEW Magazine has listed some great organizations you can donate to in order to send relief to Sandy’s victims.

The Red Cross is providing shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by the storm. To donate, simply visitwww.redcross.org, call 800-Red-Cross or text the word “Redcross” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

The Salvation Army is serving thousands with their mobile feeding units and shelters along the East Coast in areas heavily hit. Visitwww.salvationarmyusa.org to donate.

World Vision is distributing flood clean-up kits, personal hygiene items and emergency food kits. To donate, visit www.worldvision.org.

Save the Children is providing relief to families and their children. Visit www.savethechildren.org to donate.

Whatever you choose to do, get involved in some way and show the love of Christ to those who are hurting.
