Last week, gospel artist Richard Smallwood announced that he is starting a foundation in memory of his mother Mabel R. Smallwood.
Richard Smallwood shared the news saying, “Starting a foundation in memory of my Mom. More information will be added later as time goes along.”
The name of the foundation is The Mabel R. Smallwood Foundation. According to The Mabel R. Smallwood Foundation Facebook page, the goal of the foundation is to “encourage and assist youth and young adults in achieving their greatest potential through education and creative endeavors.”

Mabel R. Smallwood was married to Rev. Chester L. Smallwood. Mrs Smallwood assisted his husband as he founded some of the well known churches in Washington, DC.
Mabel R. Smallwood was known for her genuine help to church members, those with children or without finance, those who were hungry for love and encouragement.
