Tyler Perry is not only a fan of Tamela Mann’s acting. The media mogul loves her music too.
He shouted out the Grammy-nominated gospel recording star’s chart-topping single “Take Me to the King” on Twitter, encouraging his followers to purchase the song that blazed its way up to the top of gospel charts.
“Sunday morning woke up singing Tamela Mann’s new song, Take Me To The KING,” Perry wrote. “Have you heard it? WOW! If not, you should buy it.”
Looks like he certainly has an ear for good music!
Mann’s soul-stirring melody, penned and produced by incomparable hit-maker, Kirk Franklin, landed at #1 on the Billboard Gospel radio chart where it remained for weeks, marking the very first #1 track of Mann’s career.
Her powerful vocal delivery also earned the gifted vocalist her first ever GRAMMY nomination in the Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance category.
