The RTA board is scheduled to vote Feb. 19 to pay the $2.5 million to install cameras on the 100 buses that do not have them now.

If passed, that will finish equipping its entire fleet of buses and trains with security cameras.

At Tuesday’s Safety and Security Committee meeting, members agreed to vote Feb. 19 for 100 more cameras, as well as upgrades on cameras already on buses and rail vehicles.

The entire cost is estimated at $2.5 million. All of RTA’s newer buses already have the cameras installed.
