Road crews with the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing for a mixed bag of precipitation forecasted to hit Northeast Ohio on Friday.

Full crews in the Cleveland division of ODOT are in position to keep the roads clear. They’re not pre-treating the roads because rain is expected to hit first.

“When there’s rain involved it would just be wasting the taxpayer’s money. If we put the brine down, it’s just going to be washed away so we’re going to have to be out there putting the de-icer down as quickly and as often as we can,” said  Mark Ziaja, an ODOT spokesperson.
