Donnie McClurkin and Tramaine Hawkins will be honored during the 19th annual Essence Festival that will be held in New Orleans July 4-7. The multiple award-winning gospel artists will be honored during the Get Lifted All Star Gospel Tribute that will feature more than 20 performers.

Donnie McClurkin is a three-time Grammy winner, multi-award winning singer and songwriter that has ministered all over the world. Some of his popular songs include “Stand’ and “We Fall Down.”

Grammy Award-winning and Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee Lady Tramaine Hawkins began her recording career at the age of 10 and later joined the Edwin Hawkins Singers and added her soaring vocals to the platinum-selling single “Oh Happy Day.” Her solo works, spanning nine albums, have spawned opuses such as “Changed,” “Goin’ Up Yonder” and “Highway.” In 1986, Beyonce’s Mrs. Carter Show World Tour is adding a special performance at the Essence Festival, where the international superstar will return to the Superdome to headline one of three stellar nights of concerts taking place July 4-7 in New Orleans, LA. Beyoncé will join previously announced acts Jill Scott, Maxwell, New Edition, Charlie Wilson, Keyshia Cole, LL Cool J, Brandy and more for three days of extraordinary music and empowerment.

Mali Music has also been added, along with Faith Evans, Rachelle Ferrell and Tamiato to the list of artists performing at one of the four super lounges.

In addition to the evening concerts, the Essence Empowerment Experience will uplift festival-goers through daily seminars on healthy living, career and work advice, education reform, civil rights, relationships, style, beauty and more. Renowned leaders Reverend Al Sharpton, Rep. John Lewis and Bishop Lester Love, Dr. Steve Perry are among the speakers.
