Cristabel Clack, a 29-year-old American Idol contestant, recently revealed that church prepared her for the nationally televised singing competition.

Clack, a San Antonio, Texas native, made it to the top 20 female contestants in season 12 of FOX’s “American Idol” singing competition. The mother of three recently spoke to FOX San Antonio about how her singing at Living Waters Community Church primed her for the spotlight on national television.

“Being on stage all the time, Sunday in, Sunday out- I think it has definitely prepared me,” Clack told FOX San Antonio.

The American Idol contestant began a night of worship once a month with her husband Brandon last October which she said has began to grow once she was picked to participate in “American Idol.”

“People are just so excited about it and they want to be a part and they want to come and just be free to worship,” Clack told FOX San Antonio. “I think it just kind of goes with it. You know, the more people see me and hear me sing, they’re going to be like, ‘Wow, that’s that girl’s church, I want to go there!'”
