1. Spring Begins as Northeast Digs Out
Even though spring starts this morning at 7:02 EDT, most of the Midwest and northeast is still digging out of a foot to a foot and a half of snow, and the cold weather could last into April. For parts of the Midwest, this will be the coldest first day of spring since 1965.
2. Suspected Hacking Investigated in South Korea
Police in South Korea are investigating reported computer network outages of several broadcasters and banks. Early reports indicate that some suspect the outages could be part of a hacking attack on the country.
3. Ammunition Delivered to Florida Shooter
Authorities announced at a press conference at the University of Central Florida that two packages addressed to the would-be UCF shooter were found in a dorm mailroom on Tuesday. Inside, police found two 22-round magazines, a sling for the weapon and a DVD on how to shoot properly.
4. 19 Miners Rescued in Poland
Nineteen copper miners in Poland were rescued after being trapped underground for seven hours following a small earthquake. Only one suffered minor head cuts.
