ODOT’s district 12, covering Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties, say it is fully staffed for the predicted heavy snowfall.

Mark Ziaja with ODOT said its fully-staffed crews have been working 12-hour shifts since the weekend and will continue to stay persistent until at least Friday. In district 12, 82 trucks are on the roads.

Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties are under a lake effect snow warning until noon on Friday. Power of Five meteorologist Mark Johnson said that area could see 1 to 4 inches of snow by 7 a.m. Thursday. Cuyahoga County is under a lake effect snow advisory.

Ziaja said lake effect snow is the toughest to prepare for, so they are ready for the worst.

Drivers need to give themselves plenty of time to reach their destinations during snowy or icy weather, Ziaja said.
