These days, in many Christian homes, parents are fighting a losing battle to preserve the sanctity and chastity of their daughters and sons.

The allure and temptation the world offers, seduces many teens and young adults—something that is clearly seen in the lives of Lifetime’s reality TV family, The Colemans.

18-year-old Taylor Coleman and her parents, Marie and Ken, are seen battling it out on the series, “Preachers’ Daughters,” that chronicles the struggles highly scrutinized young women PKs face.

On the controversial series, things really hit the fan when Taylor told the cameras she wanted to be a porn star or stripper, though the teen claims she only meant she desired to have the “freedom” these women seem to possess.

In a recent interview with Essence, she attempted to clarify her remarks.

“I know a lot of people took it in a totally different way,” Taylor said. ”I meant porn star as in freedom, because they have a lot of freedom.”

Still, her father (and the public) was understandably alarmed. “I was very hurt and upset because I’m thinking: why would you want to pick that to want to be free to?” he said. “There’s a lot of other things that can show freedom.”

During the show, viewers see that Marie and Ken keep tight reins on Taylor, who tries her best to break out. One night, she snuck to a hotel to go partying with a group of boys, but her parents caught her in a lie. “I don’t care what nobody thinks. I just want to be me,” Taylor told her father.

Interestingly, her sentiments are similar to those of J Drew II, the son of Bishop J Drew and First Lady Karen Clark Sheard.
