Newly launched faith-based YouTube premium channel,Alright TV, got its start in 140 characters or less.

After Tracey Edmonds, President of the online network tweeted daily inspiration, she realized people were “hungry to be uplifted and inspired.” Thus, a new media outlet was born.

In an interview with Essence, the girlfriend of divorced dad, Deion Sanders, said, “A year and a half ago I started tweeting something inspirational every morning to keep people going. I got so many tweets back and had no idea how much it helped others.”

Taking note of her audience’s appetite for inspiration, Edmonds realized her business plan for an inspirational cable network would make a “perfect partnership” with YouTube.

The deal was finalized and the channel launched on Easter Sunday.

“We offer high entertainment value alongside a message, without beating people over the head,” she explained of Alright TV’s mission to be spiritual and wholesome, but not overly didactic, or preachy.

The CEO of “Edmonds Entertainment Group,” a company founded with ex-husband R&B artist and producer Kenneth Brian “Babyface” Edmonds, rose to prominence as producer of the movie “Soul Food,” which won five NAACP awards.
