T’is the season to ride and our cycling news calendar bears that out.

Half-priced Ray’s

Ray’s MTB, the indoor BMX/mountain bike Disneyland, is offer a deal for cyclists that will help out the Ohio City Bike Co-op . Ray’s is a Cleveland gem, located at 9801 Walford Ave., it’s a few hundred thousand square feet of obstacles, ramps and trails under roof.

Bring in any useable bike part and Ray’s takes 50 percent off the admission price, the deal runs through Friday.

Ray’s season ends April 28. Look for the end-of-season blow out party, which includes a BBQ, on the final weekend. Check out their website for info.

Bike Count and Focus Groups

The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) is doing their twice a year cyclist/pedestrian count in the five-county area they serve.

The count takes place three consecutive evenings beginning May 7 as well as late morning on Saturday, May 11.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the count. A $40 gift card to local bike shops is provided to those helping. Pick one of four orientation sessions starting April 30. NOACA’s website has more details.

Also, NOACA is updating its regional bike plan and is looking for input through focus groups, click here to see focus group info and also to link to a NOACA survey.

Velodrome Kickoff

Cleveland’s newest cycling destination, the Cleveland Velodrome , is announcing its upcoming season’s events and news at Sokol’s Greater Cleveland at 4939 Broadway this Friday evening April 19 from 5 to 8.

Food, prizes and discounted season passes for the outdoor cycling track will be available.

Critical Mass

The monthly Cleveland Critical Mass ride gathers on Public Square at 6:30 p.m., rolls at 7 with the Harbor Inn in the Flats as its ending spot.

Local food trucks will located by the Harbor Inn providing good eats. The Cleveland Critical Mass Facebook page has details.
