On Monday, Cleveland City Council got a briefing on the latest movie shooting in Cleveland — “Captain America: Winter Soldier.”

On Tuesday, three council members launched a political production of their own that could be called “The Three Amigos” against Eugene Miller and Martin Sweeney.

Incumbent Jeff Johnson announced he will be a candidate to face Eugene Miller in the new Ward 10. He took out petitions at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

He is being backed by and joining forces with neighboring Council members Mike Polensek and Kevin Conwell.

“We have decided to work together to help each other get elected. …We believe, if you elect all three of us, it will be good for our neighborhoods,” Johnson said.

All three council members opposed the new council reconfiguring the city into new wards.

Council President Marty Sweeney helped design a new ward for his political ally Eugene Miller.

But the map made more divisions in the Collinwood and Glenville neighborhoods.

And the spinoff impact affected council configurations downtown and on the west side.
