Members of the Strongsville Education Association (SEA) met at Strongsville High School where they voted to ratify a contract.

One teacher says they’re expected to return to school Tuesday, allowing substitute teachers a day to gather their things from classrooms.

SEA President Tracy Linscott says the vote in support of the deal was “overwhelming.”

The meeting lasted just over 2 hours Saturday evening.

After eight weeks on the picket line, the tentative deal was reached Friday between SEA and the Strongsville Board of Education.

“The past eight weeks have been difficult, but the healing process begins today,” said David Frazee, BOE president after negotiations Friday.

The Strongsville School Board is expected to take a vote Sunday to finalize the deal.

Tracy Linscott, President of SEA, was confident teachers would accept the deal prior to the vote.

Details of the deal have not been released.
