It seems that Lionel Richie’s daughter is not the only talented daughter in the family. Nicole Richie became famous, back in 2003, after appearing with then BFF,Paris Hilton, on The Simple Life. Now Richie’s little sister has jumped into the talent pool. 14 year oldSofia hopped onstage with her father, Lionel Richie, to sing his chart topping classic, “Hello”, in Santa Monica, on Monday night. It was the pair’s first time performing together on camera.
Lionel addressed the crowd saying, “We have never done this in our lives – never, ever, ever.”
In the endearing performance, the pair exchanged loving words with Lionel saying “I love you little girl”. During one point in the performance, Richie placed his arms around his daughter.
The song “Hello” made its debut on the pop charts in 1984. Taken from Richie’s multi-platinum album, “Can’t Slow Down”, the song reached number one on three Billboard music charts. The most memorable line of the song is, “Hello, is it me you’re looking for?”.
In an interview with a UK based station Richie mentioned that he had been thanked by many men for creating the song, as it helped them propose to their wives. It is considered to be Richie’s signature song and has been in such films as “The Forty Year Old Virgin”. Even more memorable is the video that accompanied the song. In it Richie has a love for a blind art student and discovers that the feeling is mutual when he finds her sculpting a likeness of him.
