CLEVELAND – Charges were filed on Wednesday against the man accused of holding three missing Cleveland women captive for about a decade.
Ariel Castro, 52, faces four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape, Assistant City Cleveland Victor Perez said.
“I would like to thank the citizens that came to Amanda’s immediate assistance when she tried to escape,” Perez said.
Authorities would not comment on the conditions of the house or the circumstances behind the original kidnappings.
