There has been speculation for a while. But now, the news has been officially confirmed that Christian actress Meagan Good’s NBC drama, Deception, has not been renewed for a second season.

“I’m sorry everyone,” Good wrote in a note to her fans.

The show, which was originally called Notorious and Infamous, premiered on January 7, 2013 asDeception. Before being axed, it was only one of two prime-time network dramas featuring an African American actress in a lead role.

The other is the Kerry Washington led mega-hit series, Scandal, on rival network ABC.

Delivering the news via Twitter, Mrs. DeVon Franklin said, “I just wanted you guys to hear from me first,” adding, “I am so thankful …and humbled ..and blessed by the out pour of love and support -to see it come back.”

The twisty and suspenseful thrillride debuted to 5.6 million viewers, but did not steadily increase its ratings or improve its performance.
