A man is being held in the city jail for questioning in the murder of Gloria Pointer, 14.
Gloria was raped and murdered on the east side on her way to school in December of 1984.
The man being held is a sex offender, and was connected to the case through DNA. Reporter Ed Gallek is waiting to find out more about him.
Gloria’s mother, Yvonne, has since become an activist working for positive change locally, nationally and internationally. She has appeared on national television shows and even started projects in other countries. She recently got back from a groundbreaking for a new school in Africa, a project in which she spearheaded.
