Reinforcement is a great way to remind yourself  daily how great  a person you are.  If you don’t, who will?  Having self-confidence  is necessary while tackling the world.  Making an allegiance with yourself begins with believing in yourself and having faith it will be done.  It starts with the man or woman in the mirror.

Need a boost to take yourself to the next level?, check out these three steps to elev8 your self-confidence:

1. Set yourself an achievable goal.

Confidence comes from competence (at least that’s one of the places it comes from). Set yourself up for success with an achievable goal, Yahoo Shine suggest goals like running a 5K or organizing your digital photos. Or give yourself several smaller goals, like cleaning out a junk drawer, making a dreaded phone call, or making it to the gym five times in one week. It doesn’t matter what the goals are. What matters is the feeling of satisfaction that comes from setting out to do something, and then doing it.

2.  What does confidence look like?

Who are people you think seem most confident?  Yahoo Shine suggest people like  Michelle Obama, Susan Sarandon, and Phylicia Rashad.  They could be characters in your favorite books.  What is it about these people that appeal to you?  What are the outward trappings of confidence that you would like to have yourself?

3.  Fake it till you make it.

Neale Donald Walsch uses the mantra of  “be, do, have” in his book, “Conversations with God.” We have to envision and execute the person we’d like to be, do the things necessary and we will have it all.  Some call it “faking” but if we put out the positive energy and actions of things we want in our life, the transition is inevitable.  Yahoo Shine writes, you forget you’re supposed to be acting confident and you just are. Think of it this way: It’s like getting to the gym. You don’t want to go, but to get yourself there, you pretend that you really can’t wait to pound it out on the treadmill. Afterward, when you’re glowing, happy, and filled with a sense of vitality and accomplishment, it doesn’t matter whether you faked the motivation that got you there or not. The end result was the same, and you got to reap the benefits.
