A tourist-friendly but little-used rail line in downtown Cleveland has resumed seven-day service after three years of offering only weekend and special service.

The regional transit system’s Waterfront line serves Cleveland’s Tower City transportation hub, the home of the Cleveland Browns and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

Seven-day service resumed Thursday as a new 23-story office tower along the line nears completion.

The lakefront skyscraper will become home to 2,100 accounting firm employees and marks the start of a move to revive the Flats East Bank entertainment district.

East Bank bars and restaurants have been demolished to make way for a new riverfront development.

The old Flats district had been marred by unruly crowds and drownings.
