City pools are officially open, this summer free of charge.

Mayor Frank G. Jackson launched the opening of the 2013 pool season Saturday morning at the Lonnie Burten Pool on East 46th Street.

City officials said there are no charges or admission fees for any City of Cleveland pool, spray basin or recreational program.

All outdoor pools will stay open Wednesday through Sunday from noon until 7:30 p.m.

Outdoor pools will also open on Monday and Tuesday when temperatures reach 85 degrees or higher.

Spray basins will open seven days a week at temperatures of 80 degrees or above.

Indoor pools in Cleveland recreation centers will remain open Monday through Saturday as usual.
