Cleveland’s most famous neighbor is fighting back.

Charles Ramsey, the man who helped to rescue Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight from captivity, says a news report by Britain’s Daily Mail is “full of lies.”

The Daily Mail reported that “Cleveland’s kidnapping hero” was broke, jobless and homeless, despite earning an estimated $50,000 from public appearances and donations.

Since the rescue, Ramsey has faced a whirlwind of publicity. A restaurant offered him burgers for life. There was a Charles Ramsey video, a statue and an action figure toy.

And the YouTube song and video called “Dead Giveaway,” using news clips of Ramsey, has surpassed 16 million views
