This intriquing story begins with Johnny Trey, played by James Denton, recording a top five single on the Billboard charts. His big hit, “Misunderstood”, would be the only top recording hit Johnny would make. The fall from stardom for Johnny would come fast and hard. Not only did his career in recording crash, but his life also! When Johnny is at the end of his rope, feeling hopeless and despairing of life, he finds Jesus Christ and his life dramatically changes. A new purpose, joy, and meaning comes to flood the emptiness that has characterized Johnny’s life.
In order to find a new start, Johnny and his family move to Birmingham, Alabama where Johnny takes over as the praise and worship director at the Homewood Community Church. Helping him with the music ministry of the church, and serving alongside him, is his 18-yr. old daughter, Grace Trey, played by A. J. Michalka. Grace is a beautiful, gifted, and extraordinary singer with great musical talent and a powerful personality.
