There were songs, prayers and donations Monday night at Shaw High School in East Cleveland, for the families of three women who police say were killed by a suspected serial killer.

“It’s just beautiful. It’s a beautiful representation of God’s love and the community, the part that we don’t get to see that often,” Shirellda’s Terry’s sister, Melissa Minor, said of the concert.

Hundreds of people turned out to listen to the singers and musicians, who quickly put the concert together to show support for the victims.

On July 19 and July 20, the bodies of Angela Deskins, 38, Shetisha Sheeley, 28, and Shirellda Terry, 18, were found wrapped in plastic bags near the East Cleveland apartment of their suspected killer, Michael Madison, 35.

Now that Madison has been arrested and indicted for the killings, the families are trying to heal.

“Everybody is just taking it day by day and standing on God’s words, because that is all we can do,” Minor said.
