The Honor Flight Cleveland serves to recognize Cleveland area veterans of World War II and the Korean War.  The Honor Flight enables elderly veterans to go to Washington D.C. and see the city and the major war memorials at no cost

This year the Ford Motor Company stepped up. Ford is Honor Flight Cleveland’s first corporate sponsor. The Ford fund covered the costs of one of the 2013 Honor Flights of 25 veterans back on June 19.

The inaugural flight of Honor Flight was in May of 2007, taking 25 World War II veterans at no cost to them to Washington D.C. Since that flight, every third Wednesday from May through October veterans have boarded planes at Cleveland Hopkins airport to depart on the trip of their life.
