The NFL is implementing a new policy that will limit the type of items that fans can bring to stadiums on game day starting in the 2013 – 2014 pre-season.

In May 2013 the NLF Committee on Stadium Security unanimously agreed to outline bag, package, and container sizes in an attempt to increase public safety and entry access to all stadiums.

The type of items that can be carried into game venues are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC that does not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches, and small clutch bags.

Prohibited items include coolers, briefcases, backpacks, and camera bags larger than the permissible size.

The new bag restrictions are an addition to the pat downs, bag checks, and metal detectors that fans can expect when they go to the game.
