Florida A&M University has announced a September 1 comeback for its marching band. This will be the band’s first performance after a 19-month suspension following the hazing death of drum major Robert Champion. The Orlando Sentinel reports that the band will travel to Orlando next month for Disney’s MEAC/SWAC Challenge.

Champion died in Orlando in November 2011 after he collapsed following what prosecutors say was a savage beating during a hazing ritual. The beating occurred on a bus parked in a hotel parking lot after Florida A&M played Bethune-Cookman
