You never know what people are going through. In a backstage sit-down interview with BET’s “Sunday Best” gospel media correspondent, Torrence Glenn, Arrow Records recording artist Kim Burrell admitted she has been struggling with “an emotionally horrible year and half,” and even, at one point, considered giving up singing altogether.
“I’ve been through so much,” said one of the most celebrated vocalists of our time. “I don’t think there’s been a week that’s gone by since Whitney died [that I didn’t cry] and then, not long after that, my other friend died, and then I had another [death]. My stepdad died.”
The series of losses resulted in private pain that left the pastor of “Love & Liberty Fellowship Pentecostal Overcoming Holy Church” in a dark place.
