LOCAL NEWS: Home Of Cleveland Activist Caught Fire Sunday Night
Cleveland Community Activist Kathy Wray Coleman’s home caught fire Sunday night due to food left unattended on the stove, according to University Heights firefighters.
At around 6:10 p.m. firefighters received a call reporting a kitchen fire at a home located in the 3900 block of Silsby Road.
When crews arrived, flames were coming from the kitchen window of Coleman’s two story residence, firefighters said.
The fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes.
No one was home at the time.
Firefighters said food left unattended on the stove is to blame. Damages are estimated at $20,000.
The investigation has been handed over to the arson department, because no one was home when flames broke out, said firefighters.
