Rapper Lecrae Moore took to Facebook Tuesday to admonish fellow Christians who are judgmental and seem to purposefully look for specks in their brother’s or sister’s eye without ever considering that the “standard” of their faith is grace and love.

“Christians why are we so judgmental? Not as in calling our [brothers] and [sisters] to walk worthy of the Gospel but sometimes I think we are absolutely LOOKING for something wrong, off, or sinful about people,” Lecrae wrote Tuesday afternoon on his fan page.

While acknowledging that there are some Christians who may believe “in a tyrant of a god who is waiting around every corner to smack his followers for not being perfect,” the rapper, who professionally uses just his first name, reminded readers that whatever corrections or calls they attempt to make on others should be done in love.

“Our standard is GRACE and LOVE. Without LOVE we have nothing. I’m all for real rebuke and correction but that should be done in love! The goal is to restore not tear down,” he added.

Lecrae, a frequent guest speaker and performer at Christian conferences, went on to point out that no one is perfect and all deserve God’s wrath, but that due to God’s grace, they have been “adopted, cleaned up, and given sight.”
