The Story Tour presented by World Vision is returning for its third year after sell-out performances to nearly 120,000 people during the 2011 and 2012 holiday seasons proved to be successful.

The tour will travel through 14 cities as a unique experience to learn about the Bible is presented. Performers this year include: Casting Crowns, Steven Curtis Chapman, Natalie Grant, Matthew West, Nichole Nordeman, Selah and Rawsrvnt, along with author and speaker Randy Frazee and musical director Bernie Herms. A full orchestra and children’s choir will back the artists as each song tells a first-person account of a specific biblical character.

“When a family comes to The Story concert and they see, person by person, how God has moved through history, they begin to see how the Bible fits together,” said Mark Hall, lead singer of Casting Crowns in a press release, who is returning after participating last year. “God is working all things together for good. That is the message: that Jesus is the way to God and that He is writing our story.”

“It is so exciting to be a part of an event that helps bring the Bible to life,” Natalie Grant said in a release. “Watching the audience grasp these biblical truths in new ways is especially rewarding. And I believe these are some of the greatest songs ever written, so it is an honor to sing them every night.”

The cast will play the show’s soundtrack, (Music Inspired By) The Story in its entirety, recreating the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Sprinkled throughout will be Christmas tunes.

Beginning in late 2011, (Music Inspired By) The Story is a project brought forth from some of the best-known artists in Christian music. The Story album takes biblical truths and provides a narrative of love and redemption through God that intersects with our own history of brokenness and failures.
