WKYC’s Jim Donovan has confirmed that after 40 years, the Cleveland Browns are ending a partnership with the Cleveland Clinic.
The Browns will now receive all medical services from University Hospitals.
This move would result in a change of team physicians to UH doctors and medical specialists.
UH is also expected to become one of the Browns’ major corporate sponsors, which includes signage at the stadium.
The UH sponsorship is believed to be worth up to $30 million to the Browns over 10 years. The deal was reportedly led by local philanthropist Monte Ahuja, whose namesake is University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center.
The Browns’ association with the Cleveland Clinic stretches back to 1973 when it took on the role as the team’s health service provider.
