The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority announced that all rapids and buses will be delayed Tuesday morning because of weather related issues.

Several trains were out of service because of ice and extreme cold.

The buses are also experiencing mechanical issues.  Many have frozen air systems, meaning the brakes, doors and heating will not work properly and the buses cannot safely operate.

The RTA said extra crews were called in to work on repairs.

“While we are working diligently, the cold is sticking around and we anticipate continued issues and delays. We apologize to our customers, but the weather is affecting us badly,” the RTA said in an email to Fox 8 News.

The Red Line was back in service late Monday night.

The RTA experienced weather related delays last week caused by heavy snow.
