They first gained mainstream recognition with the crossover single, “I Can Only Imagine” giving then double platinum certification. 2. Overcomer – Mandisa
Gospel/contemporary Christian artist Mandisa began her singing career on the fifth season of American Idol. After finishing in ninth place this soulful singer definitely knows what it means to be an overcomer. She is now on the Hits Deep tour along side Christian innovator TobyMac and has been nominated for 5 Grammys, two of which are for her album Overcomer.
3. Never Gone – Colton Dixon
Colton Dixon, another American Idol alumni, made it to the top seven after being prompted to crash his sisters audition by Idol judges. After being voted off he ventured into the world of Christian music and is doing exceptionally well. A deluxe version of his album A Messenger is being rereleased early this year.
