Geoffrey Gurkovich, 32, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of 5-year-old Jermani Brooks, police said during a press conference.
Gurkovich was released from prison at Grafton Correctional Institute in June 2012 after a four-year stint for escape and domestic violence.
Jermani Brooks was shot in the head Sunday night while sitting in an SUV with her mother on Crossburn Avenue on Cleveland’s west side.
