Proms can be very expensive, so now two Elyria High School teachers are making sure their female students will have a memorable prom by taking care of the most important part: the dress!

“Prom is a very big deal for girls. It’s their dream night of their high school year,” said Carmen Love, a junior at Elyria High School.

But, prom can cost you a lot of money when you add everything up for that special night.

“Probably like a thousand dollars– my dress was $300; shoes were a $100; and I got my hair done and my nails done,” said Katie Panik, a junior.

The most expensive part of prom night is usually the dress, so teachers, Andrea Oliver and Chrysty Rusch decided to start the Enchanted Closet just a couple of weeks ago and now they have collected more than 100 dresses.

“So we just decided there are so many beautiful dresses, so why don’t we start collecting them and make the Enchanted Closet; then in that way the students here could borrow them for their prom especially if they couldn’t afford to go to prom,” said Rusch.
